Out to Lunch
Like many professionals in Cayman, I have mastered the art of afternoon lunch outings. The island offers everything from Caribbean and Chinese to Indian and Italian. Your taste buds take a trip around the world in only a week. Not only will you fill your stomach, you’ll fill your social calendar. Scheduling lunch dates allow people to keep up with old colleagues and close friends. Plus, I sometimes conduct working lunch meetings. So how do you eat out and stay in shape? Sometimes, there aren’t a wide range of options. Nutritionist Bethany Smith advises against cream and butter based sauces. She also suggests ordering salad dressing on the side, so you don’t turn a healthy selection into a high calorie meal. At dinner, how about splitting a meal or sharing appetizers with your pals? That way, you’ll get a wide selection of food without widening your waistline. We sat down with the chef at Solana’s on Seven Mile Beach, to try out his healthy (and tasty!) selections.
